Sowjanya T L, a 34-year-old (UHID: KABHK.0000270955) mother of two young children, has been diagnosed with Carcinoma Breast and is currently undergoing treatment at HCG Cancer Centre under the care of Dr. Smitha Saldanha.
Sowjanya hails from Ramanagara district. Her husband is a farmer and the sole earning member of the family. Together they are raising two school-going children, and the sudden diagnosis has placed an immense emotional and financial burden on the family.
She has already completed 4 cycles of chemotherapy, but her treatment journey is far from over. Doctors have advised 10 more weekly chemotherapy sessions along with immunotherapy to ensure the best chance of recovery. The approximate cost for the remaining treatment is ₹6,00,000.
The family has already spent ₹5–6 lakhs for the initial phase of treatment by exhausting their savings and borrowing from relatives. With limited income from farming, they are now struggling to arrange the funds required to continue her life-saving treatment.
